The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between July 21 and July 27, 2026.

Incidents

Information Report
A Waste Management truck struck a low-hanging cable while traveling along the 7000 block of Northwest 62nd Terrace around 8:30 a.m. The cable fell to the ground, but there was no damage to the truck and no service outages reported.

Fire
A small electrical fire was reported at a home in the 7100 block of Northwest 70th Terrace shortly before 3 p.m. Coral Springs Parkland Fire Rescue extinguished the fire. Deputies reported no structural damage and found no signs of arson or suspicious activity.

July 22

Information Report
City personnel reported an unattended Nissan Leaf that had been parked for several days in the City Hall parking lot. The owner was contacted, and the vehicle was removed. Deputies noted the owner had previously been warned about leaving the vehicle there.

Traffic Incident
A deputy attempted to stop a black BMW X4 near Old Club Road and University Drive for equipment violations around 9 p.m. The vehicle initially stopped before fleeing into Parkland Golf and Country Club. The driver was not identified.

Violation of Protection Order
Deputies responded to a report that a person had returned to a residence in violation of a domestic violence protection order. The individual was found inside the home, detained without incident and arrested.

July 24

Domestic Battery
Deputies investigated a domestic battery in which physical injuries were observed. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Broward Main Jail.

Property Damage
A resident reported that fireworks set off by neighbors during Fourth of July celebrations caused damage to two vehicles parked in a driveway. The resident also reported paying to remove debris from the driveway and lawn.

Neighbor Dispute
Deputies documented a dispute after a resident complained about a neighbor pressure washing their property.

July 25

Contractor Dispute
A disagreement between a contractor and a client over delays in completing work resulted in a work stoppage.

E-Bike Crash
A man suffered minor injuries after losing control of his electric bicycle and crashing while riding through a neighborhood. He was not transported from the scene.

Fraud
A resident received a phone call from someone claiming to be a Broward Sheriff’s Office sergeant who requested credit card information to secure the release of the caller’s sister from jail. The resident refused to provide the information and later learned the call was a scam.

July 26

Baker Act
Deputies responded to a residence after a person reportedly made suicidal statements during a mental health crisis. Based on witness statements and observations, the individual met the criteria for involuntary examination under the Baker Act and was transported to a behavioral health facility for evaluation.

Arrests

July 22: Jesse James Dean, 43, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating a domestic violence protection injunction.

July 24: Edward Cifuentes, 45, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence battery causing bodily harm.
