The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between Aug. 4 and August 10, 2026.
Incidents
Violation of Court Order
A violation of a court order was reported in Parkland on Aug. 4. According to BSO, a victim reported receiving two phone calls from an offender who was in jail despite a domestic violence protection order prohibiting direct contact. Investigators determined the calls violated the injunction, and an additional charge was filed.
Indecent Exposure
An indecent exposure incident was reported in Parkland at approximately 8:49 p.m. on Aug. 4. A woman told deputies she was jogging on a sidewalk when an unknown man riding a bicycle pulled alongside her and exposed himself. The woman stopped running, and the man continued riding away. Deputies searched the surrounding area but did not locate him.
Domestic Disturbance
A non-criminal domestic disturbance was reported in Parkland on Aug. 6. Deputies met with a caller who believed his father was going to discipline him for misbehaving. According to the report, no physical altercation occurred.
Traffic Incident
Deputies responded to 6700 W. Hillsboro Blvd. on Aug. 6 after making contact with a man who had reportedly attempted to drive his vehicle on a sidewalk. Deputies said the man appeared to be experiencing health issues and was transported to a hospital by fire rescue.
Neighbor Dispute
A neighbor dispute was reported in Parkland on Aug. 7. A woman told deputies she received concerning Facebook messages from a neighbor accusing her of participating in neighborhood gossip and making disparaging statements about the neighbor’s family and others in the neighborhood.
Vehicle Burglary
A vehicle burglary was reported in Parkland on Aug. 7. Deputies responded to BJ’s Wholesale after approximately $5,000 in cash was stolen from a vehicle. The rear passenger window was shattered, and the front passenger window was damaged.
Surveillance footage showed a possible suspect vehicle described as a newer-model black SUV with silver rims. A latent print was recovered from the vehicle and submitted into evidence.
Property Damage
Property damage was reported at the entrance to Parkland Isles at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 8. A BMW SUV became stuck in landscaping after the driver told deputies she swerved to avoid a raccoon and accidentally drove onto the grass and into bushes. Damage to the landscaping was estimated at $500.
Fraud
An impersonation scam was reported in Parkland on Aug. 7. The victim reported receiving a fraudulent text message and telephone call from scammers claiming to be associated with Amazon. According to the report, the victim provided the scammers with Social Security and driver’s license information.
Arrests
Damian Edward Eker, 50, was arrested Aug. 4 on a charge of violating an injunction related to stalking or cyberstalking.
Eker was also arrested on a charge of contempt of court for violating a domestic violence protection injunction.
