A pair of Marjory Stoneman Douglas flag football standouts have been recognized as among the state’s top receivers, with Audrey Haltiwanger and Avery Shah named Florida All-State Honorable Mention wide receivers for the 2026 season.
The recognition comes after the Eagles enjoyed one of the best seasons in program history, advancing to the Regional Final as both players also play summer ball with the Parkland Storm.
Haltiwanger, who enters her senior season, led the Eagles with 71 receptions for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns. A varsity contributor since her freshman year, she has developed into one of South Florida’s top playmakers after recording 42 catches for 457 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore.
Shah, who will be a junior this season, also emerged as a key offensive weapon, finishing with 34 receptions for 352 yards and 10 touchdowns. She was also a member of the Parkland Storm 5v5 team from the NFL Flag Championship.
The Eagles finished the regular season with an 11-2 record before opening the postseason with a victory over Cypress Bay High School. After falling to Western High School in the district championship game for the second time that season, Marjory Stoneman Douglas earned its revenge in the regional quarterfinals as Shah caught a touchdown pass in a 14-7 victory.
The Eagles followed with a 13-7 upset over Miami Palmetto Senior High School, with both players scoring a touchdown, before their season ended in the Regional Final against eventual state runner-up Park Vista Community High School.
