The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between July 14 and July 20, 2026.
Incidents
Auto Theft
A resident reported that a 2020 Mercedes was stolen from a driveway between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on July 14. According to the report, the vehicle’s key had been left inside. The vehicle was entered into state and national crime databases as stolen.
Fraud
A resident reported unauthorized test transactions and a fraudulent $10,000 withdrawal from his parents’ Bank of America account. The account was closed, fraud claims were filed, and the victims requested prosecution.
Found Dog
Deputies responded after a man reported a long-haired German shepherd following him along a walking trail near Hillsboro Boulevard. The dog was taken to the BSO Parkland District station, where its owner was contacted, and arrangements were made to retrieve the animal.
Domestic Disturbance
Deputies responded to a verbal dispute between a mother and her adult son at a residence on Northwest 62nd Terrace. The argument stemmed from alleged disrespect inside the home. After investigating, deputies determined no crime had occurred.
Domestic Violence
Deputies responded to a domestic violence call on July 17 involving an alleged pushing incident. Following an investigation, one person was taken into custody.
Robbery by Sudden Snatching
A woman reported she was assaulted during an argument and that her cellphone was taken before the suspect fled. Deputies observed visible injuries, and the suspect was arrested on charges of domestic violence battery and robbery by sudden snatching.
Threats and Intimidation
A resident reported receiving multiple anonymous calls and threatening messages after communicating with an unknown woman on the Bumble dating app. Deputies documented the incident.
Dating Violence Battery
A woman reported her ex-boyfriend attempted to punch her during an argument at the Wawa gas station on North State Road 7. She blocked the punch, suffering only a glancing blow to the face. The man left before deputies arrived.
Death Investigation
Deputies responded to a report of an unconscious man in the Heron Cove community on July 20. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the investigation was turned over to detectives.
Arrests
- Brandon Skyler Jensen, 21, was arrested July 17 on a charge of battery on a person 65 years of age or older.
- Jesse James Dean, 43, was arrested July 18 on a charge of robbery by sudden snatching without a firearm or weapon.
