The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between July 28 and August 3, 2026.
Incidents
Lost Property: A resident reported losing a wallet containing identification and other personal documents after shopping at Dollar Tree, 5943 W. Hillsboro Blvd., on July 28.
Information: A resident reported Amazon delivered a package to the wrong address. Amazon requested a police report before replacing the order.
Information: Deputies assisted a resident experiencing financial hardship after an ongoing romance scam involving a suspect in Nigeria. Referrals were made to social service agencies for assistance.
Animal Incident: A resident reported that a neighbor’s dog attacked two ducks. One duck died, and the other was injured. Broward County Animal Care was notified.
Fraud – Impersonation (Attempted): A resident reported receiving a phishing message from someone claiming to be a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Property Damage: A juvenile riding an e-bike struck and broke a security gate arm at Cascata at Mira Lago, 10450 W. Miralago Dr., before leaving the area. No injuries were reported.
Theft: Three traffic cones were stolen from a residence on July 30. Deputies later found the cones near a landscaping crew working nearby and returned them to the owner. The victim chose to press charges.
Information: Deputies escorted a resident with an active protection order to retrieve personal belongings from a residence.
Retail Theft: A suspect stole two cartons of Newport cigarettes valued at $97 from Wawa, 7705 N. State Road 7, after distracting a store clerk before fleeing in an older-model Infiniti.
Information: Coral Springs Fire Rescue forced entry into a residence after a resident fell and was unable to get up, damaging the front door during the rescue.
Vehicle Burglary: A resident reported two pairs of designer sunglasses, valued at about $800, were stolen from a vehicle overnight.
Information: Deputies assisted Parkland Code Enforcement with a report of an alleged one-day party rental in violation of a city ordinance.
Information: Deputies responded to a loud party complaint but found noise levels below the city’s ordinance limits. The homeowner was provided with information.
Vehicle Burglary: A resident reported items missing from an unlocked vehicle left overnight. The estimated loss was $730.
Violation of Court Order: A resident reported an estranged spouse violated a stalking injunction by sending messages through the Talking Parents app regarding matters unrelated to their children.
Arrests
Michael Ray Brown, 42, was arrested on July 30 near University Drive and Trails End on charges of driving with a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding warrant.
