Summer Storm Girls Flag Football Teams Continue Standout Summer with Miami Dolphins League Success

The Summer Storm girls flag football program completed another successful appearance in the Miami Dolphins High School Girls Summer League, marking its fourth season in one of South Florida’s premier offseason competitions.

The league ran from June 10 through July 9 and featured 38 varsity and junior varsity programs from Port St. Lucie to Homestead. All games were played inside the Miami Dolphins’ indoor practice bubble at the Baptist Health Training Complex at Hard Rock Stadium.

Summer Storm Apex claimed the White Division championship after posting an unbeaten 7-0-1 regular season record. The team secured the division title with key victories over SF Elite and nationally No. 1-ranked Seminole Ridge.

Apex continued its strong postseason play, defeating Pahokee, Spanish River, Somerset Academy Boynton Beach, and SF Elite before falling to Park Vista in the league championship game, finishing as the overall league runner-up.

The team also advanced to the championship game of the Nike 11ON Team Competition, earning another runner-up finish. Summer Storm Apex was the only one of the league’s 38 participating programs to reach the championship game in both the Miami Dolphins League Playoffs and the Nike 11ON competition.

Summer Storm Rise also delivered a strong performance throughout the league. Despite being a younger team competing primarily against varsity opponents, Rise finished 14th overall among the 38 teams and was recognized as the league’s top junior varsity program.

The success has continued well beyond the Miami Dolphins Summer League. Summer Storm opened its tournament schedule by winning a championship in Wellington before making a semifinal appearance at the Lamar Jackson Dreamers Event.

Through all competitions this summer, the Apex varsity team has compiled an impressive 20-5-1 record, while the Rise junior varsity squad is 8-2-2. Combined, Summer Storm owns a 28-7-3 record with two tournaments still remaining on its summer schedule.

The program will return to action at a tournament in Boca Raton on Aug. 8 before closing out the offseason at the Palm Beach tournament on Aug. 15-16, looking to add to an already impressive summer that has included a division championship, multiple runner-up finishes and a tournament title.
