The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between September 1 and September 7, 2026.
Incidents
Domestic Battery
A woman reported that her adult son threw a lunchbox at her, striking her shoulder, and spat in her face during a mental health episode at a Parkland residence on Aug. 26. The man was arrested Sept. 1 and charged with domestic violence battery.
Juvenile Found With THC Vape
Deputies responded to a Parkland residence Sept. 1 after a parent reported discovering that his son was using marijuana or THC. The juvenile told deputies he received the vape and its contents from another juvenile who lives in Palm Beach County.
Damaged Pedestrian Sign
A “Yield to Pedestrian” sign was discovered knocked to the ground in Parkland’s Heron Bay community between Sept. 1 and Sept. 2. The damage was reported to law enforcement.
Domestic Disturbance
Deputies responded to a Parkland residence Sept. 2 regarding a dispute over personal property involving two people who gave conflicting accounts of their previous relationship. Deputies found no evidence of a crime and advised both parties about civil remedies.
Estate Dispute
Deputies investigated a reported dispute involving an estate and the proposed sale of a Parkland property Sept. 2.
Juvenile Injured in E-Bike Fall
Deputies responded to a reported vehicle-pedestrian crash near Holmberg Road and Parkside Drive at approximately 7:20 a.m. Sept. 3. Investigators determined that a juvenile had fallen from an electric bicycle and that no vehicle was involved. The juvenile suffered a minor finger injury.
Contractor Fraud
A Parkland resident reported Sept. 3 that he paid a contractor $1,203.75 as a deposit to install an aluminum railing inside his home. The resident said the contractor subsequently ignored him and failed to complete the work.
Riverglades Elementary Reports
Three informational reports were filed at Riverglades Elementary School, 7400 Parkside Drive, on Sept. 3. The reports did not include details about criminal activity.
Suspected Unauthorized Wi-Fi Access
A Parkland resident contacted deputies Sept. 3 regarding suspected unauthorized access to his Wi-Fi and concerns about a possible recording device inside his home. Deputies found no evidence of a crime.
Welfare Check
Deputies conducted a welfare check on an emotionally distressed person in Parkland on Sept. 3. The person was taken into custody under Florida’s Baker Act, and firearms and ammunition were secured pending a risk protection order.
Canal Floodgate Damaged
A canal floodgate near Northwest 84th Avenue and Northwest 81st Street was found damaged Sept. 4. Fresh off-road tire tracks were found nearby, and repairs were estimated at $4,500.
Suspicious Incident
Security personnel contacted deputies Sept. 4 regarding allegations that a juvenile had been touched and that someone attempted to take the juvenile into a restroom. Investigators determined the allegations were unfounded and that no crime occurred.
Business Email Compromised
A Parkland business owner reported Sept. 4 that someone compromised his company’s email account and impersonated an employee to obtain goods. The identity theft occurred between Aug. 25 and Aug. 31.
Unauthorized Zelle Transactions
A woman reported Sept. 4 that $1,000 in unauthorized Zelle transactions had been made through her Bank of America account. The bank opened an investigation.
Firearms Surrendered
A woman contacted deputies Sept. 5 to surrender handguns that belonged to her late father.
Suspicious Circumstances
Deputies responded to a Parkland residence Sept. 5 regarding a woman experiencing paranoid thoughts. Deputies determined that she did not meet the criteria for involuntary examination under the Baker Act.
Westglades Middle School Video Reported
A person contacted deputies Sept. 6 after seeing a Cat in the Hat-themed TikTok video involving Westglades Middle School, 11000 Holmberg Road. An informational report was filed.
Possible Lost Juvenile
Two joggers contacted Coral Springs Fire Rescue on Sept. 6 after seeing a juvenile walking along Holmberg Road who they believed might be lost. Deputies and a Broward Sheriff’s Office drone unit searched the area but did not locate the juvenile. No nearby agencies had an active missing-person case matching the report.
Cash Reported Stolen
A Parkland woman reported Sept. 6 that she believed a cleaning worker stole $600 from her closet. She told deputies the theft might have occurred in May or July.
Attempted Wire Fraud
A Parkland resident reported that someone used a spoofed email in an attempt to initiate a $105,000 wire transfer Sept. 2. The transaction was blocked.
Identity Theft
A Parkland resident reported Sept. 6 that someone used the victim’s Social Security number in an attempt to purchase a vehicle. The activity reportedly occurred between Aug. 17 and Sept. 5.
Arrests
A person whose identity was redacted from the report was arrested Sept. 1 and charged with domestic violence battery.
