The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between December 30 and January 5, 2026.
Incidents
Lost Property
A woman reported losing her purse after stopping near Terremar Park late Dec. 26 when she was feeling ill. She believes the purse may have fallen out of her vehicle. No suspects were identified.
Theft (Zelle Transfer)
A woman reported accidentally sending $900 via Zelle to the wrong person on Dec. 30. The recipient denied receiving the funds. Documentation and transaction records were provided to deputies.
Domestic Disturbance (Non-Crime)
Deputies responded to a family disturbance on Dec. 31 involving a nephew who became upset and damaged patio furniture. No crime was determined to have occurred.
Battery
An argument between a homeowner and her cleaning lady on Dec. 31 became physical. Due to conflicting statements and lack of witnesses or video, deputies were unable to determine a primary aggressor.
Burglary (Residential – Suspicious Activity)
A homeowner reviewing surveillance footage observed an unknown man looking into home windows and vehicles between Dec. 29 and Dec. 31. No property was reported stolen.
Information Report – Phone Number Porting Issue
A resident reported her phone number was unexpectedly transferred to another carrier. She was advised a police report was required to resolve the issue.
Information Report – Vehicle Ownership Dispute
A man reported issues reclaiming a vehicle obtained through a trade that was never titled or registered in his name. He was advised on proper registration procedures.
Information Report – Neighborhood Disturbance
A woman reported that an unknown neighbor yelled at her and her child. After speaking with all parties, deputies determined no crime occurred.
Attempted Fraud (Rental Scam)
A woman attempting to rent a home advertised on Facebook Marketplace became suspicious when the alleged broker stopped communicating. She later learned the listing was fraudulent and reported the incident.
Burglary (Vehicle)
Two unlocked vehicles parked in a driveway were entered overnight between Jan. 4 and Jan. 5. The interiors were rummaged through, but no property was reported missing.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle
A vehicle reported stolen out of Coral Springs was recovered abandoned in Pompano Beach on Jan. 5 and towed for processing.
Arrests
Eudoniphyr M. Esmie, 56
Arrested Jan. 5 on a felony charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability.
