Aug. 11, 2:59 p.m., Parkland
A student mistakenly took the wrong mode of transportation home.
Property Damage – Police Vehicle
Aug. 12, 7:06 p.m., Cypresshead
A Coconut Creek Police vehicle sustained scratches after striking a mailbox.
Dog-Related Injury
Aug. 13, 9:00 a.m., Heron Bay
A resident walking three large dogs fell and sustained minor injuries after a neighbor’s small dog slipped through a fence and startled them. No dogs bit anyone.
Medical Emergency at Gas Station
Aug. 13, 9:12 a.m., BJ’s Wholesale, Hillsboro Blvd.
An elderly man collapsed while pumping gas. He was transported to the hospital; his vehicle was towed for safekeeping.
Threats by Phone
Aug. 14, 7:53 p.m., Parkland
A resident reported receiving three threatening phone calls from an unknown number, including threats of violence and sexual assault.
Juvenile Mental Health Crisis (Baker Act)
Aug. 15, 12:19 a.m., Parkland
A 16-year-old female made statements of self-harm during an argument with her father and was taken into protective custody under the Baker Act.
Text Messages Between Students

Information report completed regarding text messages between students.
Student/Administrator Conversation
Aug. 15, 1:10 p.m., Parkside Drive
Documentation of a conversation between a student and the assistant principal.
Assist Other Agency
Aug. 15, 2:00 p.m., Westglades Middle School
Boca Raton Police interviewed a student at the school.
Medical Incident – Student Seizure
Aug. 15, 3:20 p.m., Westglades Middle School
A female student suffered a possible seizure and was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center.
Suspicious Unsecured Vehicle
Aug. 15, W. Blue Spring Dr., The Falls
A vehicle sat unsecured for about a week. It was checked, not listed as stolen, and later recovered by the owner.
Online Defamation Complaint
Aug. 16, 11:30 a.m., Parkland
A woman reported that a person she previously hired posted defamatory information online. She was advised to seek legal counsel.
Suspicious Uber Report
Aug. 15, Parkland
An Uber arrived to pick up a resident who never requested a ride.
Fraud
Tax Refund Fraud
Aug. 3–15, Parkland
A resident reported her $1,280 federal tax refund was fraudulently cashed at a Walmart in Minneapolis.
Bank Fraud & Identity Theft
Aug. 14, Parkland
A woman reported unauthorized access to her Capital One and Bank of America Zelle accounts. Attempts included $2,800 in Zelle transfers and a $3,315 Best Buy purchase. Her Verizon phones were also deactivated.
Missing Person
Endangered Adult
Aug. 17, 8:37 p.m., Parkland
An adult male left a facility after staff confiscated his phone for THC use. He was last seen walking on Godfrey Lane wearing a black jacket and jeans, carrying a black backpack. He suffers from antisocial personality disorder and cannabis abuse. Listed as missing/endangered in state and national databases.

Arrested for domestic battery causing bodily harm.
Tyrone Clinton Spong, 39
Aug. 17, Osprey Trail & NW 83rd Ct, Parkland
Arrested for resisting an officer without violence following an investigation into a suspicious incident.
