The Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls volleyball team began the season with a pair of impressive wins.
The Eagles had not started the season with a win since 2020, but did so after beating West Broward in four sets. They would then go on to start 2-0 following a 25-13, 25-16, 25-22 victory over West Broward High School.
The Eagles are coming off a season in which they went 10-9 and feature Tegan Benedict, Alexa Cruz, Isabella Cox, Ariadna Henriquez, Leila Genesis Hermoso, Mia Horta, Mia Espino, Alyssa James, Kiley McMahon, Jayden Minett, Grace Pulsifer, Kathrine Shlafman, Chloe Siqueira, and Olive Smith.
They will play their next match against Northeast High School on Thursday, August 28, at 4:30 p.m. The Hurricanes went 6-8 last year and lost in three sets to the Eagles in their only matchup.
