Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through May 9, 2022.
Nw 80th Ter.
On 05/03/2022, the victim’s wife heard a noise outside their home and observed a male, heavily built, leaning into the backseat of the victim’s 2017 F150 pickup. The suspect was further described as wearing a white baseball cap with maroon or red letters. The vehicle was unlocked. The suspect left the area in an unknown make vehicle. Nothing was taken from the victim’s vehicle. A perimeter was established. K9 and aviation also responded.
On 05/03/2022, the victim alleged that an unknown suspect(s) entered his 2021 Dodge Ram which was unlocked. The suspect(s) then stole a loaded firearm from the vehicle. Tot. Est. Loss: $400.
On 05/03/2022, unknown suspects entered the victim’s two unlocked vehicles, which were parked in her driveway, and removed a total of $65 cash.
NW 66th Way
On 05/05/2022, victim parked her vehicle in the driveway of her residence at 1900 hours. Victim returned to vehicle on 5/5/22 at 1330 hours and observed her computer bag missing from the rear seat of the vehicle. The computer bag contained an Apple iPad Air (2) value of $1,000. She then noticed pry marks on her glove box, with an item from the glove box placed on her front passenger seat. She is positive that she locked her vehicle, with no signs of forced entry to the vehicle present. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,040.
5800 block of Holmberg Rd.
Drugs/Narcotics Offenses were reported on 05/03/2022. Contact made with the defendant while sitting inside his vehicle smoking a marijuana cigarette. The defendant was taken into custody for two active warrants (manufacture deliver fentanyl/use of a two way communication device to facilitate a felony). While taking the defendant into custody 12 individual capsules of heroin and two grams of crack cocaine was observed inside his driver’s door pocket.
11000 Holmberg Rd.
05/03/2022, deputies took a delayed report of graffiti being drawn on the wall of a bathroom stall inside the bldg. 2 boys restroom at Westglades Middle School. There was nothing else drawn or written beside the graffiti to determine the intent of the image per the principal, and was immediately and easily removed by school janitorial staff upon observing it. (Note: In this week’s crime summaries, BSO did not include the fact that the graffiti found in the bathroom was a hand-drawn swastika with the word “swastika” printed underneath).
North State Rd. 7
On 05/03/2022, reporter advised that three unknown males entered the business where they concealed multiple items and exited the store without making payment. Tot. Est. Loss: $163.
Marcier, Peterson, 23, was arrested on charges of selling/manufacturing/ Poss/w/int Heroin on Holmberg Rd on 05/03/2022.
Turcott, Logan Riley, 23, was arrested on charges of warrant on Nw 69th Way on 05/07/2022.
