Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through July 19, 2021.
On July 18, a 51-year-old male was the victim of a Battery in Parkland. Both suspect and victim had a verbal dispute. During the dispute, the suspect did scratch the victim numerous times, causing an injury.
On July 15, a 54-year-old male was the victim of Criminal Mischief. This was a civil related dispute between a client and contractor. After non-payment for a contracted job inside a house for sale, the contractor allegedly damaged the home’s interior.
On July 16, a 58-year-old female was the victim of Criminal Mischief in Parkland. The victim believes that the suspect cut her radiator hose and damaged other engine parts in her vehicle, leaving the vehicle inoperable. The cost to repair is approximately $400. The vehicle was not on the scene, already been taken to a shop to be fixed before police arrival.
On July 13, the reporter alleged that a person known to him removed one of his firearms from his gun safe without consent. The accused claimed that the reporter gifted him the firearm. He returned the firearm without incident.

On July 17, a caller told police she believes someone stole her check meant for the IRS.
On July 15, a man was stopped about being within Parkland Town Center after hours with a car filled with Cannabis smoke and driving with an expired tag. A firearm was located under Hayes` driver seat, for which he did not have a conceal carry permit. Hayes was arrested and transported to BSO Main Jail.
Hayes, Jason Bernard, 23, was arrested on charges of Carrying Concealed Weapon-firearm in the 6700 block of Parkside Dr on 07/15/2021.
A 60-year-old female was arrested on charges of Battery-cause Bodily Harm-Domestic Violence in Parkland on 07/18/2021.
