A Parkland teenager has been arrested and charged with multiple felony sex offenses involving a 12-year-old girl, according to Broward County court records.
Zyrone Jermaine Lebou Walker, 18, was taken into custody on December 7 and is facing two counts of sexual battery and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation. The alleged incidents occurred in late November at the Heron Bay community pool. Police have redacted the pool’s location.
According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office probable cause affidavit, Walker approached the victim – a 12-year-old girl – and her cousin at the pool, and eventually obtained the victim’s phone number.Â
Court records state that Walker later initiated contact through text messages and arranged to meet the victim near a restroom area at the pool that evening. Investigators allege the encounter took place inside the restroom, where Walker undressed the victim and continuously tried to engage in sexual intercourse with her, against her wishes.Â
The victim told detectives she attempted to resist and expressed discomfort, after which the encounter ended, according to the affidavit. Investigators say Walker allegedly warned the child not to tell anyone and instructed her to delete their text messages.
The victim disclosed the incident to family members days later, prompting a report to law enforcement. Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses, including a juvenile family member who reported observing inappropriate behavior earlier that day.Â
Investigators also documented text messages in which Walker allegedly acknowledged knowing the victim’s age, court records show.
A controlled phone call was later arranged by law enforcement, during which Walker allegedly made statements corroborating the victim’s account.
Walker was taken into custody from his home at the 8000 block of NW 125th LN and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
