Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School had strong representation at this year’s BCAA All-Star Games, with student-athletes from volleyball, football, and cheerleading earning recognition and multiple Conference Awards across several sports.
At the BCAA Girls Volleyball All-Star Game, senior Izzy Cox represented the Eagles after a successful 12–4 season that included a trip to Regionals. Cox finished second on the team with 178 kills, led the team with 39 aces, and added 235 digs.
The Eagles had three football players selected for the BCAA All-Star Game: Jaxon Anger, Jonah Lenamon, and Scott Walker. The cheerleading team was also represented, with Peyton Boothe and Makenna Moutet earning selections.
In Conference Awards, the boys’ bowling team had an impressive showing. Bryce Gregory and Luke Munson were named to the First Team, while Mike Gregory earned Coach of the Year honors. Bryce Gregory placed 34th at the state tournament and posted a 197 season average. Munson finished fifth at the District Tournament and tied for 83rd at State.
Also earning recognition for the boys’ bowling team were Angelo Ferrigno and Hunter Woodruff, who were named to the Second Team, while Jason Zimbal received an Honorable Mention. Under Coach Gregory, the team finished second at Districts. On the girls side, Elizabeth Ferrigno and Hailey Glasgow earned Honorable Mention honors.
In golf, Sutton Oosterhuis was named to the Second Team for the girls, while Sophie Alcala-Marks, Andiara Raton, and Ella Thompson received Honorable Mentions. For the boys’ team, Josh Anderson and Josh Lieberman were also named Honorable Mentions.
The football team finished the season 4–6 and saw Jonah Lenamon earn Second Team honors on defense, while Scott Walker received an Honorable Mention. Both players led the team with 103 tackles and recorded one sack each.
Additional Honorable Mentions were awarded in other sports, including Emiliana Anzures in cross country; Roman Kondrashov and Sophia El Chantiry in swimming; and Izzy Cox and Alysa James from the girls’ volleyball team.
