Parents looking for educational opportunities for their kids now have the chance.
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) has announced that the School Choice application window for the 2025/26 academic is now open and will close on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
The School Choice program allows families to apply for magnet programs with specialized curricula in STEM, the arts, and international studies. Families can also apply to Nova Schools or request reassignment to attend a school other than the one assigned based on their home address.
Students within the combined area of Heron Heights / Park Trails Elementary School must complete a School Choice application to attend Heron Heights, Park Trails, or Riverglades Elementary School.
Families can explore options by visiting the BCPS School Choice website at browardschools.com/schoolchoice. The website offers information about various programs, opportunities by grade level, and details for specific schools. Applications will be available online starting December 2, 2024, at 8 a.m.
For students new to BCPS, a student number is required to complete the application process. Parents and guardians can request a student number by visiting any BCPS school.
Keep in mind that bus transportation is offered for magnet schools. However, it is not available for reassignments.
Families can contact the BCPS School Choice team at schoolchoice@browardschools.com for more information or assistance.
The School Choice application window will close on January 21, 2025. Families interested in exploring different educational opportunities must submit their applications before the deadline.
