Roadway improvements are on the horizon for Parkland, as the Broward County Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division begins a series of sidewalk and asphalt repairs on Monday, June 2.
According to an email from Broward County, the project will include sidewalk enhancements and asphalt resurfacing along Pine Island Road between Holmberg Road and Trails End. Additional asphalt repairs are also slated for Nob Hill Road, spanning from NW 66th Drive to Parkland Reserve Boulevard.
Funded by gas tax revenue, the work is expected to continue through December 2025, weather permitting.
To minimize disruption, one lane will be closed during off-peak hours, while the adjacent lane remains open to traffic. Pedestrians should expect limited access to certain sidewalks, with clearly marked detour signage in place.
Electronic message boards will be deployed in advance to alert drivers and pedestrians to the upcoming construction.
Residents are encouraged to use caution in the affected areas and plan alternate routes if necessary.
