The city of Parkland consistently produces incredible student-athletes, which was displayed during the State Championship this past weekend at Silver Spurs Arena.
Parkland’s own Michael Mocco and Peter Mocco both had incredible seasons for Cardinal Gibbons High School and competed at the State Championship, with Michael taking first place for the third straight season. He was coming off his third straight District Championship and fourth Regional Title before competing at the State. Peter came in second place after previously dominating in Disticts and placing second in Regionals. The two brothers finished the season 88-2
For Marjory Stoneman Douglas, they had two places at state, led by David Levia coming in third place. He shined this year, winning a District and Regional Championship before helping MSD place 25th as a team. Rocco Duygulu came in seventh place, while Jackson Zajkowski went 1-2 in his three matches. They each picked up their 100th win earlier this season.
