Westglades Girls Soccer Advances in Playoffs: Basketball Season Underway

Westglades Middle School continued its success, with the girls’ soccer team defeating Lyons Creek Middle School 4-0 on Tuesday.

They were undefeated in the regular season and have already won two more games in the playoffs. The Wolves will play again on Monday at 4 p.m. at McArthur High School.

Westgaldes’ basketball season is also underway. The boys’ team won 44-17 over Parkidge, while the girls’ team won via forfeit.

In cross country, Alexys Caropreso won again, finishing first in the MSAA County Championship at Markham Park. Overall, the girls’ team came in sixth place, with Evelena Fleck placing 19th, followed by Halioegh Mills, Isabella Solorzano, Mandy Glasgow, and Martina. Velez, Isabella Miller, Brianna Loo Martinez, Isabella Pattok and Emma Yeager.

The boys team also finished sixth overall, with Levi Bekker placing fourth and Mason Polonia coming in seventh. Dylan Elrich came in 25th and ran along with Arjun Tulloch, Sanjay Tulloch, Kevin Mann, Aasros Grossman, and Ryan Bombulie.
