The Original Florida Pokers had 11 players committed, with Nick Fernandez, Julian Diaz, Johnny Chen See, Blake Sundberg, Nico Sabotino, Ben Sabotino, Ben Bianchi, Marcelo Young, Reid Dadic, Reggie Rodriguez, and Cade Raley.
These 10 players join Jack Rostock and Ivan Sabatater, who recently signed with the NC State University and the University of Miami.
Fernandez will play for Indian River State College after a terrific high school career. The left-hander pitched 18 innings with the Pokers this year and struck out 22. He also won a State Championship while playing with St. Thomas Aquinas High School this past season.
Diaz will attend Miami-Dade College, went 9-2 with an ERA of 3.08 last season with the Raiders, and will play in college. Chen See had two doubles and five RBIs during his junior year playing on varsity. Sundberg is committed to Seminole State College, tossing 18.2 innings with the Pokers and allowing only five earned runs.
Sabotino will officially be heading to Appalachian State after winning a state title with St. Thomas Aquinas, while Bianchi is headed to the University of Central Florida, and Dadic and Young will play at Daytona State College. Both Bianchi, Dadic, and Raley were a part of the Eagles’ fifth straight State Championship. Rodriguez is headed to South Florida State College and plays at West Broward High School.
