Jack Rostock of Parkland has officially announced his commitment to continue his baseball career at NC State University.
“I’m excited and relieved at the same time,” said Rostock. “I patiently went through the recruiting process, but I’m happy it’s over and I found the school that’s perfect for me.”
Rostock began his baseball journey with i9 Sports before moving on to Parkland Little League and then travel ball with the Parkland Pokers. This past summer, he competed with the Original Florida Pokers under Coach Todd  Fitz-Gerald.
Rostock started his high school career at Saint Andrew’s School before transferring to North Broward Prep for his final two years. On the mound as a junior, he posted a 7–1 record across 14 appearances. He struck out 53 batters in 49 innings, helping his team reach the Regional Semifinals. This summer, he has continued to shine for the Original Florida Pokers, allowing only three runs in 23.2 innings. His performance included a complete-game shutout to earn MVP pitcher honors at the 17U Championship Games.
Rostock’s journey hasn’t come without challenges. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) just weeks before starting kindergarten in 2013, he has been insulin-dependent ever since. Despite that, he has never let the condition hold him back and feels like he has found the perfect school for college.
“NC State has it all,” Rostock added. “A great school and baseball program, beautiful campus, state-of-the-art facilities, and a dedicated fan base. But most of all, the coaching staff sets the school apart—they made me feel at home in Raleigh.”
With one year of high school remaining, Rostock hopes to get bigger and stronger while working to add a fourth pitch to his arsenal. He will be joining an NC State team that went 35–21 last season, winning two games in the NCAA Tournament. The program has won six Regional Championships and made four College World Series appearances, including one in 2023.
