Anthony Rizzo {NY Yankees}

After only nine games with the New York Yankees, Anthony Rizzo is heading to the injured list after testing positive for COVID-19.
Rizzo, who battled Hodgkin’s lymphoma back in 2008, said publicly in June that he would not get vaccinated.
“I actually decided not to get the vaccine,” Rizzo told MSN. “There’s just a lot that went into it, talking to all the doctors, and it was a really hard decision on all ends. But it’s just one of those things where we just continue to be safe and continue to go on and live life.”
According to his manager Aaron Boone, Rizzo, who is celebrating his 32 birthday on Sunday, is experiencing light symptoms.
The Yankees already have had multiple games this year canceled due to COVID-19. Starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, shortstop Gleyber Torres and outfielder Aaron Judge are among players that have missed time this year after testing positive.
Since the trade, Rizzo is hitting .280 with three home runs and has six RBI’s. The left-handed slugger also became the first player in team history ever to have an RBI’s in his first six games and has led New York to wins in eight of the nine games he has played.
