The Marjory Stoneman Douglas boys volleyball team closed the regular season with a thrilling five-set win over Coral Springs High School on Tuesday.
The Eagles won 25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-5 in the final home game for Diego Palacios, Luis Silva, and Glauer Nogueira. The Eagles improved to 6-5 and previously beat J.P. Taravella, Coral Glades, Coral Springs Charter, and Plantation High School.
MSD also won a pair of sets against Charles W. Flanagan, as well as one against Cooper City High School. They will head to the District Tournament as the fifth seed and will play Olympic Heights Community High School in the opening round on Monday, April 28, at 6 p.m.
The Lions are 9-7 this year, and the winner of this game will play top-seeded Boca Raton Community High School on Tuesday, April 29, at 6 p.m. Monarch and West Boca Raton Community High School each have byes in the opening round and will face off in the District Semifinals.
