The Marjory Stoneman Douglas cheerleading team capped off another memorable season with a second-place finish in the Medium Non-Tumbling division.
After finishing fourth place in the District Tournament, the Eagles improved by placing second in Regionals to advance directly to the State Final. They went on to compete against ten schools, which featured six that had to compete in the semifinals and fell by .2 points.
Their team consists of Bianca Barrionuevo, Angelina Cappola, Isabella Ceballos, Anabelle Civalero, Cayley Clemo, Saniya Cole, Ava Fernandez, Emily Haas, Kiera Haley, Savannah Jean, Macy Meis, Lawrence Morantus, Makenna Moutett, Maci Norkunas, Gabriella Savastano, Cameron Shavelson, Claudia Schulman, Amanda Stone, Estella Stencel, Emmy Thompson and Madison Winnick (team manager).
Civalero, Morantus, Shavelson, and Meis are the lonely seniors on the team, as MSD will return to a strong group next year.
