Sometimes the community works together to make magic and miracles happen.
Sheena is hoping this is one of those times because at ten-years-old she finds herself at the Broward County shelter, puzzled, scared, and wondering when her new family might arrive.
Confiscated from her owners after a Good Samaritan alerted authorities to her situation, Sheena is a larger girl who was kept outside and crammed into a small cage, where she was horribly cramped.
Sheena remained outside in the searing sun and the pouring rain. Thankfully she was removed from the home, but now she needs a new one. — one where she will be living indoors, showered with love and enriched with toys, walks, and laughter.
She a healthy girl who is calm and well-mannered around other dogs. She likes other dogs and is very playful. Sheena would do great in any home and needs an adopter or a foster home, as she has an interest in an excellent rescue if a foster can be found for her.
If you’d like to meet Sheena, please email rescue@broward.org or visit the shelter this weekend. Broward County Animal Care and Adoption is located at 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. (closed Monday and closed New Years Day).
