Former Marjory Stoneman Douglas outfielder Roman Anthony is officially the top-ranked prospect in all of baseball.
Anthony, a 2022 MSD graduate, has skyrocketed through the Boston Sox organization after being drafted with the 79th pick in the second round of the MLB Draft.
In high school, The All-American hit .545 with ten home runs and 40 RBIs as a senior and finished his high school career with 15 homers and 62 RBIs. He has played in the minor leagues, working his way from Rookie Ball to Triple-A. In his career, Anthony has hit 32 home runs and drove in 135 runs while hitting 281. He was the Boston Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year in 2023 and has hit Anthony. This season, he hit 15 home runs in Double-A this year and was later called up by the Worcester Red Sox, where he hit three more home runs.
Anthony also competes in a showcase at the All-Star Game, where hitters get points for reaching outfield targets on the fly or a bounce, and they earn points by landing the ball on the bunt target. Entering the final round in last place, Anthony hit six home runs in eight swings to take first place.
