In June 2022, Roman Anthony was drafted, and nearly 15 months later, the former two-time State and National Champion with Marjory Stoneman Douglas is just one stop away from the big leagues after being promoted to Double-A Portland with 2022 top pick Kyle Peel.
Anthony has hit .265/.396/.459 with 13 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases between Low-A Salem and Greenville in 2023.
In high school, The All-American hit .545 with ten home runs and 40 RBIs as a senior and finished his high school career with 15 homers and 62 RBIs. He was also named Florida’s Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior.
Portland comes in with a record of 68-58 and is scheduled to play their next game on Tuesday, September 5, against the Reading Fightin Phils at 7 p.m.
