With winter break starting soon, parents are looking for ways to keep their children occupied and off their electronic devices. Here’s a list of camps throughout the Parkland area for any parents who would like to find stimulating activities.
City of Parkland Winter Break Camp at the P-REC
10559 Trails End, Parkland
Children in kindergarten through fifth grade will take a trip within the tri-county area every day. The hours for camp are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from December 23 to 27 (excluding 12/25) and December 30 to January 3 (excluding 1/1). ART Paper Scissors
6654 Parkside Drive, Parkland
Children starting at age seven will explore their creativity through the art-focused curriculum. They will be introduced to a variety of mediums and styles, from painting to mixed media, crafts, and games. The hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, December 27 through Thursday, December 30. Kingdom Training Winter Basketball Camp

At this co-ed basketball camp for children ages five and up, players will be separated into different divisions based on age and skill level. The camp includes intense drills, skill-building, and games to improve and maximize each child’s potential. The hours for camp are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from December 20 to 23 and December 27 to 30. 5678 Dance Winter Camp
5678 Dance is having a four-day winter camp for dancers ages five and up, who are interested in spending their day learning techniques, new choreography, and having fun with friends. Dancers will take classes throughout the day in different dance styles: tap, jazz, ballet, acro, hip-hop, contemporary, and more. The hours for camp are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from December 20 to 23, and the cost is $270 per week for Parkland residents and $324 per week for non-residents. American Twisters Gymnastics Fun Days

Children ages five and up can choose from daily gymnastics fun days on December 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, or 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with aftercare available. Each day of camp is $100 and includes the gymnastics camp session, healthy snacks, and water each day, arts and crafts, movie time, gymnastics instruction, fun, and games. Transform your child’s love for technology into an exciting learning adventure. Code Ninjas Roblox Camp empowers kids to gain valuable tech skills and make new friends. Spitfire Farm Holiday Horse Camp
We covered a story on Spitfire Farms Holiday Horse Camp which takes place Monday, December 20 through Thursday, December 23, and Monday, December 27 through Thursday, December 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with before and aftercare options available.
Starting at age five, kids in their winter break camp will be placed in groups of five as they enjoy horse riding, arts and crafts, nature walks, and more.
