Two sitting Democratic lawmakers representing Parkland have officially filed to run for re-election in 2026.
Senator Tina Polsky (D-Boca Raton), who represents Senate District 30, which includes Parkland, will stand for reelection in the general election set for November 3, 2026, according to state election filings. Her current tenure began in 2022.
Representative Christine Hunschofsky (D–Parkland), serving Florida House District 95, has also filed her candidacy paperwork for the 2026 election, records show. She was first elected in 2020.
Hunschofsky, currently the Minority Leader pro tempore in the Florida House, is slated to lead the House Democrats starting in 2026.
A former mayor of Parkland, Hunschofsky, was recently named “Elected Official of the Year” by the Florida chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, which lauded her championing of issues connected to social work.
