The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team is poised for a new year as it looks to improve following a challenging 2024 season.
The Eagles are coming off a season in which they went 1-9, with their only win against Coral Springs High School.
Nick Maresca, Christoper Jackson, Trishanu Burchell. Adam Shaikh, Dominic Tardalo, Adam Zayid, Trey Francis, Brandon Gilmore, Ethan Senko, Sylan Shinn, Alex Baldwin, Xavier Velez, Michael Mendlevich, Jailen Taylor, Bishop Stewart, Andrew Mastalerz, Tristan Tana, James Ross, Oshri Gurr, Rocco Duygulu, and Jamil McCellan all graduated from last year’s team.
MSD will play its first game of the regular season on Thursday, August 21, at 6 p.m. against Cypress Bay High School. The Lightning went 6-4 last year and beat the Eagles 48-22 in their first matchup last season. MSD will then have home games against Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Coral Springs High School, and Coral Springs Charter while facing Cooper City Boyd H. Anderson, Coral Glades, Spanish River, and Coconut Creek High School on the road.
