The Marjory Stoneman Douglas cheerleading team recently competed at the UCA Regionals in the Varsity Co-Ed Non-Tumbling Division, where they placed sixth and earned a bid to the UCA Nationals Competition.
The Eagles previously competed at a UCA Camp, where they were named overall champions and earned wins in stunt sequences and the Camp Routine. MSD also achieved notable individual honors, including eight JV All-Americans, five Varsity All-Americans, one Pin-it Forward recipient, one Varsity Jump-Off winner, one Blue Excellence Ribbon during evaluations, and one Gold Superior Ribbon during evaluations, along with a second-place finish in the Cheer competition.
The  Junior varsity intermediate team earned a 5th-place finish overall, while our Varsity Coed Non-Tumbling team demonstrated true grit—standing in third before deductions, finishing sixth overall, and earning a bid to nationals.
“Words can’t fully express how incredibly proud I am of our cheerleaders for stepping back onto the UCA Regional Championship floor for the first time since 2011,” head coach Patti Thompson said. “This day wasn’t just about placements; it was about teamwork, growth, and representing our program with pride.”
Earlier this year, MSD also won a District Championship in the Small Non-Tumbling Division. The Eagles will compete at the FHSAA Regionals on January 9 before advancing to Nationals on February 6-8 at the ESPN World Wide of Sports in Orlando.
