The Marjory Stoneman Douglas cross country team competed in the BCAA Championship at Markham Park.
The girls team came in fifth place and was led by Olympia Koumoutsakis, placing 16th. Alexys Caropreso was next to finish in 22nd, while Sparta Koumoutsakis came in 24th. Noa Nierman, Cecilia Gago, and Caroine Schwartz also ran for the Eagles.
The boys team came in ninth as a team, but had Matthew Rosenberg finish 18th. Roberto Martone was 36th, followed by Alexander Spadaccini, Caleb Walker, Rocko Martone, Joshua Glasgow and Nicholas Rosenberg.
The junior varsity team also raced, which featured the girls coming in second place. Sophia Zengotita finished fourth, with Teresa Alba coming in seventh and Sophia Yamhure in ninth. Rebecca Bridger, Addison Hokanson, Isabella Bayarri, and Martina Velez placed in the top 15 while Mia Fernandez, Taryn Bander, Brianna Alvarez, Emily Levine, Alina Keeney, Gia Capistrano, Briana Martinez, Summer Valladares, Haleigh Mills, and Charlie Keeney ran.
The boys team placed seventh, with Aaron Grossman recording the best time for MSD. Colton Pattok, James Mills, Sheheryar Kashif, Massimo Chirighin and Nicholas Perez all ran as the teams prepare.
