The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team completed their busy week with a game on Friday against Coral Glades. However, the Eagles, who lost to Everglades High School on Monday, fell for the first time in the 12th all-time meeting between these teams.
MSD had previously won all 11 matchups by at least seven points, but the Jaguars opened the scoring with a strip sack returned 70 yards for a touchdown by Winston Moise. They doubled the lead following a Wensley Mombrun one-yard rushing touchdown before Jaxson Anger tossed a touchdown pass to Ethan Senko before halftime.
Both teams scored touchdowns in the third quarter, with Anthony Casseus tossing a pass to Chris McDonald for a score and Jonah Lennamon finding the end zone for the Eagles.
MSD will have another short week with a game against Spanish River Community High School on Thursday, October 10, at 6 p.m. The Sharks are 4-2 this year and recently beat Coral Glades 61-6 a week ago.
