Marjory Stoneman Douglas has found success across multiple sports, and both the boys and girls soccer teams are heading into the new year with strong performances.
The boys’ team holds a 5ā1ā1 record and is coming off an impressive 1ā0 victory over Cardinal Gibbons High School on Thursday. The Eagles also recorded back-to-back 8ā0 wins against Nova and Pompano Beach High School and earned additional victories over South Broward and Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School.
MSDās only loss this season came against Cypress Bay High School, and they also drew 0ā0 against Pembroke Pines Charter. Up next, the Eagles face J.P. Taravella on January 6 at 4 p.m. The Trojans enter the match with a 7ā1ā2 record.
The girls’ team fell 1ā0 in its most recent game against Cardinal Gibbons High School, but has also recorded two dominant 8ā0 wins this season against South Broward and Nova High School. Their other win came in the season opener against Coral Springs Charter. The team also competed in the 13th annual Kicks for a Cure match against North Broward Prep, with donations going to Joe DiMaggio Childrenās Hospital, but fell 3ā1. MSD will also take on J.P. Taravella on January 6 at 4 p.m. The Trojans are 0ā4ā1 this season and have scored just two goals.
