
Marjory Stoneman Douglas Baseball. {954 Preps}
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball team earned the top spot in Regionals, looking to win their fifth straight State Championship.
The Eagles, who rank second in the state and eighth in the country, compiled a 23-2 record this season. They knocked off Coral Glades 6-0 in the District Semifinals before winning 1-0 against Western High School in the Final.
MSD will begin Regionals in the newly best-of-three series against Cypress Bay High School. The Lightning went 16-8 this season and lost to West Broward High School in their District Championship Game.
Western High School, which knocked off J.P. Taravella in the Semifinals, will play again in the opening round, with the winner playing either MSD or Cypress Bay. On the bottom half of the draw, Christopher Columbus High School is the second seed and will play Ferguson High School. West Broward will play Southwest Miami High School.
The first Regional game will be played on Wednesday, April 23, at 6 p.m., with Game 2 scheduled for the following day at 5:30 p.m. If necessary, the third game will be on Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m., at Cypress Bay.
