In their final week of games before the holiday break, four Marjory Stoneman Douglas varsity teams recorded wins.
The boys basketball team fell against Fort Lauderdale High School to start the week but responded with a 59-52 win over Nova High School on December 20.
The Eagles will compete against Westminster Christian Academy on December 30 at 8:30 p.m. before resuming their season on January 8 against Hollywood Hills High School at 7:30 p.m.
The girls basketball team won against Fort Lauderdale High School on December 18 for their fourth season victory. They also had wins against Monarch, Hallandale High School, and Coral Glades earlier this year.
The Eagles will next play against Cooper City High School on January 16 at 6:30 p.m. The Cowboys are 6-4 this year and beat MSD 35-22 last year.
The boys soccer team went 1-1-1 this week, defeating South Plantation High School 2-1 on December 18. They fell 3-1 against a south Broward High School and played to a 2-2 draw against Cooper City High School.
The girls soccer team outscored their opponents 5-0 following wins against South Plantation and Cooper City High School. Alexa Jourdon, Grace Dykstra, and Layla Segelnick all had goals in the first game, with Emily Rodriguez, Breanna Gordon, and Emma McGregor recording assists.
Dykstra and Gianna Rizzo scored in their next game, with Jourdan recording an assist and Ella Stevens recording another shutout.
Next, the boys will play American Heritage High School (Delray) on January 8 at 5 p.m., while the girls will compete against American Heritage High School (Plantation) on January 10 at 6 p.m.
The hockey team fell for the third time this year against North Broward Prep but scored the first two goals against the Eagles in seven games.
