If you’re looking for a way to beat the summer heat, then head over to the Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center for “Movies in the Gym”.
Parkland City Spokesperson Todd DeAngelis said he is excited to bring a double feature with “Space Jam” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2.”
“Community events like this help us define Parkland,” said DeAngelis. “We strive to provide activities that are fun for the family.”
Held on Saturday, June 30, admission is free and includes free popcorn. Residents can bring chairs, blankets, pillows, and other items that will make the viewing experience more comfortable for them on the gymnasium floor.
“Since the movies will be shown in the gym, there will be a lot more space to sprawl out than in anyone’s living room,” he said.
Come on out for the 5:00 p.m. viewing of “Space Jam” to see the Looney Tunes take on a basketball match with the aid of retired champion Michael Jordan. This film is rated PG.
At 7:00 p.m. the Guardians will help their leader Star Lord (Chris Pratt) uncover the truth of his heritage in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” This movie is rated PG-13. Both are a mid-summer treat you won’t want to miss on Saturday, June 30.
Parkland’s PREC is located at 10555 Trails End, Parkland, FL 33076.
