The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between June 16 and June 22, 2026.
Incidents
A business in the 6000 block of Northwest 62nd Street reported losing about $30,000 after accepting payment from a stolen credit card for merchandise. The funds were reversed after the fraud was discovered, leaving the business responsible for shipping costs and merchandise that could not be recovered.
A resident reported an attempted fraud on June 17 after discovering suspicious activity involving personal financial information.
A delayed grand theft was reported after a package containing an item valued at $48,000 disappeared following a UPS delivery. The shipping company was investigating the incident after concerns were raised about the driver’s actions.
Deputies located a disoriented man walking near Holmberg Road and Parkside Drive on June 18. He was identified as a missing person and safely returned home.
Two neighbors became involved in a dispute over a shared property line that escalated into both parties accusing each other of pushing during a physical confrontation.
A resident reported receiving threatening text messages from someone they had met only a few times.
Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on June 19 after an argument between a married couple turned physical.
Wallets containing cash, credit cards and identification were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at a neighborhood park on June 19. The estimated loss was about $200.
Deputies determined no crime had occurred after responding to a report of a woman going door-to-door speaking with neighbors while campaigning for public office.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a home in the 10200 block of Sweet Bay Court on June 19.
A resident reported damage to a bed frame during a dispute involving an estranged spouse and the spouse’s boyfriend while belongings were being removed from a home scheduled to be sold.
A broken bathroom stall bracket was discovered at Terramar Park. Officials could not determine whether the damage was intentional or accidental.
A natural death was reported at an assisted living facility on Loxahatchee Road.
A woman was taken into protective custody under the Baker Act after witnesses reported she was running into traffic, sitting in the roadway and attempting to stop passing vehicles near Pine Island Road and Parkland Reserve Boulevard.
Deputies determined no crime occurred after responding to a verbal domestic dispute involving a couple with a stroller.
Deputies investigated a report after a woman sent a text message indicating she intended to harm herself. After speaking with her, deputies determined she did not meet the criteria for a Baker Act.
A resident reported receiving a minor scratch after attempting to move a barking dog away from a bedroom window. The dog’s owner agreed to keep the animal farther from the neighboring property.
Arrests
Carlos Arturo Vega, 51, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
Beth Caren Weisbrot, 53, was arrested on a felony charge of petit retail theft by a repeat offender.
George Hall, 49, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of larceny/theft.
