The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between October 21 and 27, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement.
Information Reports
Bullying Investigation — On Oct. 21, deputies met with students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School regarding a possible bullying incident.
Medical Call at MSD — A juvenile male was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center after feeling faint on Oct. 21.
School Panic Alarm Activation — On Oct. 22, a special needs student at MSD accidentally triggered the Centegix Panic Button System during a class photo.
Medical Emergency at Heron Heights Elementary — On Oct. 23, a staff member reported lower back pain and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Animal Complaint — On Oct. 25, a resident in Cypresshead reported a neighbor’s bunny eating his shrubs; the case was referred to Code Enforcement.
Possible Drowning — On Oct. 26, deputies and Coral Springs Fire Rescue responded to a possible drowning involving a 2-year-old. The child was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived and was later taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Criminal Incidents
Trespassing Arrest — On Oct. 21, Thomas Chin, 53, was arrested at 5901 W. Hillsboro Blvd. after being found on BJ’s Wholesale Club property despite a prior trespass warning.
Domestic Battery Arrest — On Oct. 22, Sean Farnum, 49, was arrested following a domestic disturbance in which he pushed a female victim during an argument.
Criminal Mischief at Wawa — On Oct. 23, a victim reported an unknown male punched and damaged his vehicle’s passenger-side mirror at 7705 N. State Road 7.
Auto Theft — Between Jan. 8, 2024, and Oct. 13, 2025, a John Deere Gator valued at $14,267 was stolen from 6500 Parkside Dr., property of the City of Parkland.
Burglary Conveyance — On Oct. 26, a resident on NW 87th Lane reported that her 2024 Jeep was entered by an unknown male captured on her Ring camera. No items were stolen.
Other Incidents
Domestic Disturbance (Non-Criminal) — On Oct. 25, deputies responded to a verbal dispute involving family members. No physical altercation occurred, and parties were separated for the evening.
Fire Incident — On Oct. 25, deputies responded to a vehicle fire that spread to the roof of a residence. No injuries were reported, and no foul play is suspected.
Animal Fatality Report — A delayed report on Oct. 23 detailed a dog struck by a vehicle within a residential community; the incident was believed to be accidental.
Baker/Marchman Acts
Oct. 21 — An adult female was transported to Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center after threatening self-harm during a domestic argument.
Oct. 26 — A woman exhibiting erratic behavior was Baker Acted for evaluation at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health.
Arrests
Thomas Keith Chin, 53 — Charged with Trespassing-Structure or Conveyance (Misdemeanor) on Oct. 21.
Sean Malcolm Farnum, 49 — Charged with Touch or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence (Misdemeanor) on Oct. 22.
