Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through May 15, 2023.
Burglary Building/Structure
A victim of a Burglary Building/Structure on Liberty Way was reported on 5/09/2023. The total estimated loss was: $500. Construction site companies and workers have been in and out of the home. A GE microwave and GE cover vent were stolen from the house.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 05/11/2023. An unlocked vehicle was entered, and a wallet was removed. The total estimated loss was: $200.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 05/10/2023. The total estimated loss was: $50.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on State Road 7 was reported on 05/10/2023. The total estimated loss was: $159. The reporting person advised after the suspect entered the business, he eventually went to the cashier. The suspect requested four cartons of cigarettes from the associate, who placed them in a bag. The suspect left the business with the cigarettes without the transaction being finalized for payment. The total for all four cartons of cigarettes was $319.04.
Information
Information on NW 77 Manor was reported on 05/10/2023. Reporting party is missing their Yorkie mix dog. Family members let the dog out and could not locate it afterward. Reporting party believes the dog may have been taken by an unknown person(s).
Fraud – Worthless Check
A victim of Fraud – Worthless Check on Hillsboro Blvd was reported on 05/1012023. The total estimated loss was: $365. Reporting person advised that some used a worthless check to purchase $365.48 worth of merchandise.
Kidnapping / False Imprisonment
A victim of Kidnapping/False Imprisonment on Holmberg Road was reported on 05/13/2023.
Arrests
Dixon, Nyjal, 21, was arrested on a charge of Burglary – Dwelling Occupied/Unarmed/No Assault Battery NW 75th Way on 05/11/2023.
Predelus, Josue Gavin, 21, was arrested on a charge of Burglary – Dwelling Occupied/Unarmed/No Assault Battery at NW 75 Way on 05/11/2023.
