This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through October 21, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Criminal Mischief
Lennar Corporation was the victim of Criminal Mischief at 15800 Loxahatchee Road, reported on 10/16/2024. A link chain was cut last week on the undeveloped future Lennar home site, allowing four-wheeled SUV access. The subjects were seen (by a Lennar contractor) in a silver older model Toyota 4-Runner but did not make contact with them. A report was requested, as the link (since repaired) was damaged.
Threats / Intimidation
A victim of Threats / Intimidation was reported on 10/18/2024. The resident contacted women on a dating app, only to realize it was for escorts. Once he canceled his account, he began to receive threatening messages from an unknown subject.
Animal Bite
A victim of Animal Bite was reported on 10/15/2024. The victim wanted to report getting bitten by a brown mixed poodle dog while riding her bike. The victim has no information about the dog owner.
Alarm / Open Door
A victim of Alarm / Open Door was reported on 10/15/2024. An overloaded electrical panel caused the fire alarm to activate.
Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault was reported on 10/15/2024.
Theft
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 10/16/2024. The victim advised that two unknown subjects stole his white 2023 Cadillac Escalade. The key fob was left inside the vehicle because the victim rented the vehicle out through the “Turo” app.
CVS Pharmacy was the victim of Theft—retail / Shoplifting at 7621 N State Road 7, which was reported on 10/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $343. The offender removed items from the shelf, placed them in a backpack, and then walked out of the store.
Battery
A victim of Battery was reported on 10/17/2024.
Arrests
Cordova, Carlos Ernesto, 62, was arrested on a Battery – Touch Or Strike charge on 10/17/2024.
Grimmet, Guy Thomas, 51, was arrested on a Drive While License Suspension 3rd Or Subsequent Offense charge at 7000 Parkside Drive on 10/19/2024.
