This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through October 14, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Criminal Mischief
The City of Parkland was the victim of Criminal Mischief at The Ranches/Parkland Equestrian Center at 8350 Ranch Road, which was reported on 10/09/2024. BSO responded to find pickup trucks doing donuts in the open field, with one of the trucks pulling a person on a boogie board tied to the truck. Both suspects admitted to causing the damage to the grass, but it was not their intention. The total estimated loss was $2500.00.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage was reported on 10/12/2024. Deputies responded about the front yard property damage due to an Amazon delivery van driving into the front yard and getting stuck.
Fire
A victim of Fire in The Ranches was reported on 10/09/2024. The victim noticed his Mercedes and Tesla engulfed in flames while parked in his driveway. Both vehicles were EVs, and the fire spread to a section of the exterior of his home. No injuries were reported after FD was able to extinguish the fire.
Theft
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 10/11/2024. The total estimated loss was $5,801. Two unknown suspects entered the neighborhood early in the morning and entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle with the key fob inside. The suspects stole the vehicle and used a credit card left inside to purchase goods at 7-Eleven in Lauderhill. The suspects wore dark clothing and concealed their identities with ski masks and gloves.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 10/12/2024. The total estimated loss was $879. An automatic gate-opening kit was stolen after being delivered to the property.
A victim of Theft -All Other was reported on 10/09/2024. The total estimated loss was $510. The complainant stated that he had placed his phone on one of the benches on the basketball court and went to play basketball. When he finished playing, he noticed that his phone was missing.
A victim of Theft From a Building was reported on 10/11/2024. The total estimated loss was $300. The victim said that she hired a company to clean her dryer vents. The technician used her ladder from her garage without her permission, and when he left, he took the ladder with him. The technician also charged her Bank of America Credit Card with four (4) separate charges for a total of $4,883.53.
Swatting
A victim of Information was reported on 10/11/2024. Dispatch advised that the caller stated her friend was cooking drugs inside the residence, and the subject pulled a knife out on her friend. An investigation revealed that all these allegations were fake and sent from a bogus phone number through the Text Now app. Everything was okay at the residence, and that address was flagged for Swatting.
Arrests
Perez, Danielle Lois, 43, was arrested on a charge of Battery-Cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence on 10/12/2024.
Corgosinno, Ursula Edeltrand, 60, was arrested on a charge of Battery-touch Or Strike on 10/13/2024.
