If you’ve driven through Parkland, chances are you’ve noticed signs for Ronin Development in front of homes under construction.
The luxury home builder Victor Dipilato and his wife, Chari, recently celebrated their sixth year of raising funds and collecting gifts for the SOS Children’s Village.
Victor explained, “I strongly believe that when you start achieving success, you have a responsibility to give back—especially to the community that supported you. I like to give back.”
This year’s celebration took place at Pizza Time Caffe, where the Dipilatos hosted 145 guests, including engineers, architects, subcontractors, former and returning customers, family members, and prospective clients.
Victor emphasized the event’s unique networking element: “People work alongside each other but never really get to know one another. This party helps you appreciate how many wonderful people you actually know.”
While no donations were required to attend, a collection box was available for those who wanted to contribute to SOS Children’s Village.
“We suggest if you can or want to, bring a toy or make a donation,” Victor said.
This year, the event raised over $3,000 and filled a truck with toys.
Reflecting on the origins of their charity efforts, Victor shared, “The first year, we donated to Toys for Tots, but we realized our contribution was just a drop in the bucket for such a large organization. We switched to SOS Children’s Village because we wanted to make a more significant impact on a smaller, local charity.”
The Dipilatos were introduced to SOS Children’s Village by Catherine Walker, wife of Mayor Rich Walker.
Victor explained, “SOS Children’s Village is a community of homes in Coconut Creek, each housing six children with foster parents. Their main mission is to keep siblings together instead of separating them into different foster homes. It’s amazing.”
For Victor and Chari, these holiday parties are about more than just fundraising—they’re about connection. “The parties bring industry professionals and customers together outside the business setting, all while supporting a great cause,” Victor said.
Thanks to their dedication, the Dipilatos have turned a festive gathering into a meaningful tradition that benefits the local community.
