Parkland weekly Crime Update by Parkland Talk

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through September 4, 2023.

Theft- Retail / Shoplifting

A victim of Theft- Retail / Shoplifting on Hillsboro Blvd was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,966.77. The reporter advised after the unknown suspect entered the business, he selected numerous items, which included grocery items in addition to a Cuisinart Stand Mixer, Samsung Monitor, LED strip Lights (2), JBL Tune Flex Earbuds (7), Boombox Speaker, JBL Noise Canceling Earbuds (6) from within the store with the selected items which were in a wagon as well as concealed in his backpack without making payment.

Threat Assessment

Threat Assessment Report on Parkside Drive was reported on 09/01/2023. A student made a verbal threat to harm another student.


Information on Watercrest Circle W was reported on 09/01/2023. The complainant advised that an outside vendor, a painter by profession, stopped by her office wanting to complain about a painting job that she and the board members did not approve. At one point, the complainant advised that the vendor became verbally abusive and threatened to have her fired. At that point, the complainant reported to the vendor that she was calling the Sheriff’s Office. The vendor in tum left the property without further incident.

Information on Watercrest Circle W was reported on 09/02/2023 about multiple dog issues, including off-leash and charging at people.

Aggravated Battery

A victim of Aggravated Battery was reported on 09/03/2023. Domestic Violence battery by strangulation was reported.

Animal Bite

A victim of an Animal Bite on NW 75 Way was reported on 09/03/2023. The victim walked by NW 75 Way when a large German Shepherd dog ran across the property’s front yard onto the street and bit the victim on his left hand. The victim sustained puncture wounds between his left thumb and forefinger and between his left and middle fingers. He met with the dog owner, and the parties exchanged contact information.

Burglary Residence

A victim of Burglary Residence on NW 97 Drive was reported on 09/04/2023. The total estimated loss was $4,260. An occupied residential burglary and auto theft to a 2019 gray Mercedes AMG C63 S. The victim’s vehicle was stolen from his driveway. It is uncertain if the suspect(s) entered the garage, but the victim received an alert that it was open. Several items were inside the vehicle.


Pina, Robert, Lewis, 33, was arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence charge on NW 60 Place on 08/30/2023.

Vitalis, Kevon, Jordan, 20, was arrested on a Battery-Felony Battery Or Domestic Battery By Strangulation charge at Miralago Way on 09/03/2023.
