Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through January 8, 2024.
A victim of Battery 01/02/2024. The victim and defendant got into an argument over a cell phone. The defendant threw the phone and hit the victim in his left eye. The victim then left and returned, and the defendant jumped on top of him and slapped him several times in the face.
A victim of Battery 01/06/2024.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other on 01/02/2024. The victim reported that she sent $1600 through Venmo to an unknown person for four Taylor Swift tickets but never received the tickets. The person she sent the money to has since deleted their Venmo account.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage on 01/05/2024.
Animal Bite
A victim of Animal Bite on 01/05/2024. The victim sustained two minor puncture wounds on the triceps area of his right arm from a dog bite. The dog owner was highly apologetic and cooperative. The dog owner also advised his dog is up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies. The victim responded to Urgent Care, where his wound was cleaned and stitched closed.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 01/07/2024. The total estimated loss was $10. The vehicle was left unlocked overnight. The victim discovered her car had been entered.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 01/07/2024. The victim discovered that his Ford F350 was broken into overnight. A male entered the unlocked vehicle at the driver’s side door, rummaged through the vehicle, then exited the car and left the area.
Information
Information on 01/08/2024. A Park Ranger advised of two male juveniles riding small motorcycles in the Equestrian Center. Subjects were recorded on video but left the area upon being approached by the Park Ranger.
Arrests
Le, Hang, My, 38, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on 01/02/2024.
Baimenova, Zeinekul, 68, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on 01/06/2024.
