The Parkland Power 8u travel softball team is a brand new group of girls hitting grand slams this season, who recently took home gold at the Boca Fathers Day Classic tournament.
Winning wasn’t easy; the team showed grit as they were behind the Coral Springs Panthers by five runs during the last inning of the Championship game. The strong-willed girls did not give up, powered through six runs, and kept the Panthers from scoring during their final inning up to bat — sealing the win at 13-12.
This tournament win comes after only a few months of practice, led by coaches Corey Gabric, Michael Tyler, and Joe Camp.
“When they were down during the season, they just kept grinding toward improving. I love to see them practicing, persisting, and growing confidence in real-time. I’d highly recommend joining our league or getting involved in other sports to all the girls out there.” said Jennifer Levine, mom of Rebecca.
The coaches especially acknowledge Rebecca Levine #11, Amelia Tyler #8, Camila McComas #10, Charlotte Troher #22, Chloe Frank #3, Jillian Prang #2, Kennedy Camp #13, Lilly Hellman #7, Madelyn Baur #16, Stella Gabric #9, and Zoey Dargan #1.
