A Parkland man was arrested after authorities say he randomly punched a woman who was riding her electric bicycle along a sidewalk.
According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Jonathan Foster, 24, was arrested after deputies responded to an incident that occurred on February 10, near the 6300 block of Holmberg Road.
Deputies say the victim was riding her electric bicycle on the sidewalk when she passed Foster. Investigators allege Foster intentionally punched her twice as she rode by.
The report states the suffered pain in her hip as a result of the battery and veered to the left, nearly losing control of her bicycle near traffic. The report noted that the two individuals did not know each other and had no prior contact, and there was no other confrontation or run-in that would have led to such an attack.
Following the altercation, deputies say Foster was uncooperative and initially refused to provide identifying information at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Broward County Main Jail.
