Work is about to begin on roadway improvements in Pine Tree Estates, addressing a long-standing issue in the community.
During the August 13 meeting, the commission approved a resolution authorizing the purchasing director to negotiate a contract with the top-ranked proposer among three companies, Asphalt Paving Systems.
The company and city manager will negotiate a final contract, which will be presented for final approval at the next meeting. The initial offer presented during the meeting is $6,563,458.
Mayor Rich Walker said he is glad that improvements will finally be made to the roads in Pine Tree Estates, which have been in disrepair for years.
