
Richard Serianni {MSD Soccer}
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas boys soccer team has officially introduced Richard Serianni as its new head coach.
Serianni, a South Florida native, brings an impressive playing and sports medicine background to the Eagles. He was a four-year varsity starter at J.P. Taravella High School, helping the Trojans win back-to-back District, Regional, and Sectional Championships while reaching two Final Fours.
He also played competitive club soccer for 10 years and was part of the 1997 U19 Clearwater Chargers team that won the James P. McGuire Cup National Championship.
Serianni became a four-year starter at Stetson University. He earned a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training before receiving his master’s degree and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.
Outside of coaching, Serianni serves as a Regional Manager with ApexNetwork Physical Therapy, where his work includes sports medicine, leadership, athlete development and team management.
The Eagles are coming off a season in which they went 12-2-2, finishing as the No. 28-ranked team in the state and No. 78 nationally. MSD defeated Western and Coral Glades in overtime to win the District Championship, then knocked off Miami Palmetto Senior High School in the Regional Quarterfinals.
