In a recent escalation of previous incidents, a Parkland residence has been subjected to dangerous acts of vandalism, including a recent incident involving fireworks that caused damage to the deck and walls.
The home located at the 10400 block of Majestic Trail became the target a year ago, vandalized repeatedly by three teenagers believed to be from Parkland Golf and Country Club.
What started as mere egging took a dark turn when explosives were set off, endangering lives and causing damage on September 22.
Although the homeowners have been vigilant in filing police reports for every act of vandalism, the teens have eluded the grasp of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The incidents started with throwing eggs, soda cans, and beer bottles. However, the September 22 episode at approximately 10:22 p.m. has shaken the homeowners.
The fireworks caused a fire, damaging the curtains and destroying parts of the deck and the home’s walls.
“My children were inside,” said the distressed homeowner, “We never imagined they would escalate to this level. We are desperate and pleading for the public’s assistance in bringing these culprits to justice.”
Locals have reported seeing the teenagers commuting in a golf cart, often heading toward Parkland Golf and Club. However, there is no evidence they live in the abutting community.
BSO Captain Michelle McCardle states that the Parkland District detectives are actively investigating these incidents.
“At this point in the investigation, detectives need the public’s assistance in identifying these subjects.”
Investigators ask anyone with information to contact BSO Parkland Detective Erick Quigley at 754-240-6950 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.
