4-Time State Champion Devin Fitz-Gerald Wins Florida Dairy Farmers Player of the Year

Marjory Stoneman Douglas All-American Devin Fitz-Gerald was officially drafted by the Texas Rangers in the fifth round of the MLB Draft.

“Baseball means everything to me,” Devin said. “It’s the game I love to play and have the most passion for. It’s the sport my Dad introduced to me ever since I was two years old and I just fell in love with the game ever since.”

Devin, who played four years on the varsity team under his father, Todd Fitz-Gerald, won a State Championship in all four years of high school. He also won a National Championship three times and was ranked as the 218 prospect but was drafted at 165.

An NC State commit, Fitz-Gerald hit .397 in high school with 11 home runs and 63 RBIs. He was named an All-American by Max Preps, the American Baseball Coaches Association, and the National High School Baseball Coaches Association.

“I couldn’t be more proud of Devin,” Head Coach Todd Fitz-Gerald said. “He has worked his as– off to get where he’s at. He is a student of the game with a great baseball IQ. He will play the game for a long time.”
